Root Canal Treatment
Root Canal Treatment is used to treat infected or very inflammed nerve tissue in a tooth thereby retaining it and avoiding the loss of that tooth.
There are early warning signs that can indicate the nerve tissue of the tooth has become infected, and these may include:
Toothache and sensitivity
Tenderness when chewing
Trauma to the tooth or jaw
Deep tooth decay / Deep fillings
Severe gum disease
During a root canal treatment, we numb the tooth and you you shouldn’t be experiencing any more discomfort than when receiving a normal dental filling.
At Walkerston Dental, we use a surgical microscope for difficult root canal treatments which enables us to visualise the operating field at a very high magnification helping us to remove all infected tissue.
We are proud to say that we are the first private practice in the region along with our other practice at Northern Beaches Dental, to own and utilize a surgical microscope for difficult root canal procedures and Dr PK has been using it since 2007.
If you want to talk to us regarding this procedure in detail, one of our dentists would be more than happy to do so.
