Fissure Sealants
These consist of a very thin layer of resin filling material that is quickly and painlessly painted onto the chewing surfaces of back teeth. As these tooth surfaces contain lots of intricate grooves and fissures, they are more likely to develop tooth decay. By sealing them completely soon after they emerge, we can help prevent cavities from developing. Fissure sealants are thin enough not to interfere with your child’s bite and we can renew them if they become worn or chipped.
