The Implant Process

Once the implant is in place we can provide you with a temporary prosthesis to use while the implant is healing, a process that normally takes three months. As soon as this is complete, we can fabricate your new prosthesis, taking care to ensure it looks and feels very natural and is able to function just like your real teeth.

This treatment is very sophisticated and we take a lot of care during the planning process, most of which happens behind the scenes using state-of-the-art imaging equipment. By carefully planning your treatment, we can ensure each appointment will be as smooth and as comfortable as possible.

All-on-Four

All-on-four is a great treatment for anyone who is faced with complete tooth loss or who already wears a full denture. Using just four to six dental implants, we can secure a complete arch of teeth so you can enjoy the feeling of having teeth that are firmly supported and that will not shift position whenever you eat or talk. This can be an excellent treatment for anyone who currently struggles to eat or who finds socialising with others is a trial due to having an ill-fitting and uncomfortable denture.

It is also worth inquiring about this treatment if you have previously been told you require a bone graft prior to dental implants. This is because the dental implants are positioned in such a way as to often eliminate the need for bone grafting.

Bone Grafting

Dental implants must be surrounded by a certain amount of bone in order for them to be anchored firmly in place. Bone loss can occur after natural teeth are removed or can be due to disease or trauma. Bone grafting is a technique to build up missing bone in areas where it is deficient so we can successfully place dental implants. There are a number of different bone grafting materials that can be used, but quite often we will choose to use artificial bone grafting materials that help encourage the growth of new bone.

A bone graft can sometimes be carried out at the same time as a natural tooth is extracted or at the time an implant is placed. Larger bone grafts may require a small additional procedure. It is a very straightforward and highly successful procedure, and we will ensure you are completely comfortable throughout this treatment.
